Lagecheck

Privacy policy

This is a translation. The German version of this page is the binding one.

This privacy policy explains which personal data is processed when you visit lagecheck.at, for which purposes, on which legal basis and for how long. Lagecheck works without user accounts, without advertising and without third-party analytics or tracking tools.

1. Controller

Bohdan Andrusyak, Graz, Austria
Email: kontakt@lagecheck.eu
No data protection officer has been appointed, as there is no obligation to do so.

2. Visiting the website and hosting

When you open a page, your browser necessarily transmits your IP address, the requested address (URL), the date and time, the language and identification of your browser (user agent) and, where applicable, the page you came from. This data is processed to deliver the website and to protect it against attacks.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in providing the website securely and reliably.

3. Counting visits

To understand which pages and features are used, to detect errors and to be able to report usage figures, we store an entry for every page view and action with the following details: time (to the second), type of page or action, the city, neighbourhood and address code concerned, the result of an address search, language, the domain of the website you came from or a campaign tag (utm_source), device class (desktop, mobile, tablet), response time and a visitor code.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in improving the service and documenting its use.

4. Cookies

Lagecheck only sets cookies that are strictly necessary for a function you have explicitly requested (§ 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021). Merely reading the pages sets no cookie.

You can delete cookies in your browser at any time. Earlier versions of the website set a language cookie (pi_lang); it is deleted on your next visit.

5. Maps

On pages with a map, your browser loads the map images directly from external servers. Their operators receive your IP address, your browser's identification and the map area shown; only lagecheck.at is sent as the referring page. These servers set no cookies.

The operators are responsible for the processing on their servers. The legal basis for including the maps is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in showing the maps.

6. Address search and building reports

The address search runs on our server, in the official address register; the text you enter is not passed on to anyone. When a building report is built for the first time, our server queries public data services with the address's coordinates only, without any data about you: the Land-, forst- und wasserwirtschaftliches Rechenzentrum (Austria), the European Environment Agency (Denmark), GeoSphere Austria, the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (Italy), the Province of Styria, the City of Graz and the City of Vienna. Stored reports contain only public data about the address and no information on who opened them. To limit these queries, the server counts new reports per hour and per visitor; it knows the visitor only as a hash of the IP address with the daily random value from section 3, and the count is deleted after two hours.

7. Feedback

When you send the feedback form, we store your answers, the path of the page you sent it from, the language and the hour. We do not store your IP address. To limit abuse (at most eight answers per hour), the server keeps a hash of your IP address in memory for at most one hour. Answers are deleted after two years. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in improving the service.

8. Reports of building projects

When you tell us about a building project, we store your text, the place, the kind of project, the city, the language and the hour, and also the coordinates of the address from whose page you opened the form, as long as the "Where?" field still names that address. We do not store your IP address; abuse limiting works as in section 7. We check every report against official sources. Confirmed reports appear as a project on the website, possibly with your text; please do not name private individuals. Rejected reports are deleted 30 days after the check, all others after two years. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in complete information on building projects.

9. Contact by email

When you write to us, we process your email address and your message to answer your request. The message is deleted once the matter is settled, at the latest after one year, unless a statutory retention obligation applies. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

10. Backups

The databases of the visit counting, the feedback and the project reports are backed up daily, encrypted, with Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos str., 6023 Larnaca, Zypern (auf dem Server selbst) as a processor. We keep 14 daily, 8 weekly and 6 monthly backups, so deleted data also disappears from the backups after six months at the latest.

11. Recipients and transfers to third countries

Personal data is only received by the processors named above (the hosting and the storage provider) and, for contact by email, the email providers involved. We do not sell data or pass it on for advertising. Lagecheck transfers no data to countries outside the European Union; if you write to us by email, the terms of the email providers involved apply in addition.

12. No automated decisions

There is no automated decision-making and no profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. The LAGE score describes places, not people.

13. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). Please write to the email address above. As the visit counting stores neither IP addresses nor lasting identifiers, we generally cannot link those entries to a person (Art. 11 GDPR).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority: Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb@dsb.gv.at, www.dsb.gv.at.
