How do I find the flood area of one address?

Enter the address on the home page, and the report names its flood area. The map of Dornbirn shows the flood share of every neighbourhood. The method explains how a flood area lowers LAGE, and on the page your priorities, you set how much each part counts. Living in Dornbirn gives the other measures for the whole city.

How we counted

The flood maps come from the federal ministry BMLUK, which publishes them under the EU Floods Directive, in the 2026 edition. They cover the larger rivers. Small streams and surface runoff after heavy rain are missing from these maps, so an address outside the mapped areas can still flood. The address register of the BEV gives every address, and each address counts once, however many flats it has. An address counts toward a flood area when its location lies inside the mapped area.

Every figure in this story comes from the same open data as the maps and address pages of Lagecheck, counted per address from the address register. The data stands as of 12 October 2026.
