The table covers the addresses with a named locality. The addresses of the locality Wels itself stay out of it, the city centre with the Kaiser-Josef-Platz area among them, and the map of Wels shows them.

Pernau reaches 86 for quiet, 65 for public transport and 92 for errands on foot. Berg reaches its 65 another way, with 74 for green space and 49 for errands. Laahen scores 95 for errands on foot, the highest errands part among the three. The table also lists small localities, down to Doppelgraben with 7 addresses, so their medians rest on few addresses.

The Vogelweiderstraße area in Oberthan has the lowest median of the compared neighbourhoods, 39. At the foot of the table, Au has a median of 34 from 13 addresses, Mitterlaab 37 from 37 and Doppelgraben 38 from 7. Oberthan, with 88 addresses, has 40. Mitterlaab scores 94 for green space and 0 for errands on foot. Oberthan scores 95 for green space, 57 for quiet and 5 for errands.

How we counted

An address is an entry in the Austrian address register of the BEV, and each address counts once, however many flats it has. Every figure except the residents' counts these addresses, and the residents' figures come from Statistik Austria. Road noise comes from the strategic noise maps 2022 of the BMLUK, a model, given as Lden at the loudest facade, and for side streets the quiet part is an estimate. The flood areas come from the flood risk zones of the BMLUK under the Hochwasserrichtlinie 2026, public transport from the ÖROK classes 2025, the air from models of the European Environment Agency, and parks, shops, doctors and schools from OpenStreetMap and the city's directories. Distances are as the crow flies. Only parks count as parks, and forests count separately. The data is from 12 October 2026.

The city figures count every address, and the neighbourhood comparison keeps the 52 neighbourhoods with at least 60 addresses. The table of localities groups the addresses by the Ortschaft the address register names for each, and the addresses of the locality Wels itself stay out of it. The method explains each part of LAGE.

Every figure in this story comes from the same open data as the maps and address pages of Lagecheck, counted per address from the address register. The data stands as of 12 October 2026.
